Welcome to Belleville Illinois
No matter what your interests, Belleville has something for everyone. From quiet mornings at one of our unique coffee shops to community gardens, a packed community calendar of events and festivals, to DIY classes and nights at the drive-in theatre- there is always something new to explore.

The Great Outdoors

The City of Belleville boasts an expansive inventory of parks and facilities including a splash pad, pickleball courts, The Campus, dog park, biking and walking trails, Community Center and more. These facilities are available to residents and visitors through the Parks and Recreation Department’s many activities and programs or at your leisure.

Art & Theatre

A city blooming with creativity around every corner, the City of Belleville is home to many arts programs, organizations and one of the largest outdoor art festivals in the country. Whether your interests begin with arts appreciation, level-up with learning via programs or DIY classes, or you are seeking a community of artists, you are in the right place.

History & Culture

Founded in 1814, our City has experienced growth and evolution throughout more than two centuries. You will find celebration and education of said history throughout the City of Belleville via Historical Society organizations, preservation committees, museums, festivals, and events year-round.

Annual Events & Festivals

Many of our community’s favorite events of the year are large festivals returning year-after-year that have become Belleville “traditions” – such as The Belleville Chili Cook-Off, Oktoberfest, and Belleville Christkindlmarkt (to name a few)

Community Calendar

There is always something to do in Belleville! Live music, gallery openings, trivia nights, and more occur most days of the week in our Great. Big. Small Town. Explore our Community Calendar and don’t miss a thing.

Great. Big. Parade Town.

When Main Street is lined in chairs, there is most certainly a parade and your quarterly stash of candy on the horizon in Belleville.
